Cast requirements:
One male - therapist and shadowy figure of father.
Four female - mother, age around 50, her daughters Jude (30) a researcher, Sally (26) a TV presenter and Jude`s friend, Ruth, (30), black, a lawyer.

A play about the stories we tell to explain the way we are.
Philip, a photographic journalist, working in Iraq, has died saving a little girl
. A Trust Fund is set up in his memory, and his widow and elder daughter start to work for it. Then the younger daughter accuses her dead father of having abused her as a child.
The relationship between the two sisters and their mother, Anna, is revealed
as they try to deal with the new situation, and Jude, the older sister tries all in her power to prevent Sally from continuing with her accusations.
In this extract, she has agreed to go and see the therapist who is seeing Sally and who may have encouraged her in her story of abuse.


Setting is Elliott`s consulting room. Books in shelves, a desk, couch, chairs.
Sally moves onto a chair near Elliott as Jude walks in. Camera flash.
