| Scenario #2 - Daggers in the Night
Factions Involved: A Hawkwood ship vs a Decados
Ship
Background: House Masseri has begun showing a
great deal more spine of late. Lady Mina Masseri-heir to the house
has collected an entourage and has set off for the Al Malik court
at Shaprut. The Decados suspect that her father seeks an alliance
with the Al Malik-thus ending the perpetual state of war between
them. The Decados do not plan to allow this to happen and have quietly
dispatched a frigate into Al Malik space to ‘solve’
the problem. House Keddah, aware that the possibility now exists
that their eternal yoke of bondage through convoluted alliances
might finally cease; has pulled in extensive favors with the Emperor’s
brother to have House Hawkwood prevent this from happening.
If the Decados win, their influence in imperial politics increases,
and their hold on Masseri increases as well. If the Hawkwood win,
their influence increases-as do their ties to House Keddah. House
Decados influence over House Masseri decreases.
Setup: Place a merchant ship in the middle of
the map. Place the Decados ship on one edge and the Hawkwood ship
on the other. The Hawkwood player controls the merchant ship; but
must not enter within six hexes of the merchant ship (they have
received orders that House Masseri must not know of Hawkwood interference).
If the merchant ship gets off the map, Decados loses. If the merchant
ship gets destroyed; Hawkwood loses.
