What is.Local.Online? Local Online has been set up to help more people use the internet. At present many people in our area can't afford to use the net, and don't have experience in using computers.
Some local organisations have come together to set up the Local Online project, which will be run as a partnership, led by Community Support.
We aim to help small internet centres and community centres in the area provide free sessions and support to help more people get online. All of our partners have special expertise which will help to ensure that the type of support we can give will be appropriate and of high standard.
The centres will be within the area bounded by Kennington Lane, Kennington Road, St. Agnes Place, Camberwell New Rd, Flodden Rd, Denmark Rd, Denmark Hill, Coldharbour Lane, Station Rd, Railway line to north-west of Brixton Station, Wandsworth Road. This area includes the following London Borough of Lambeth wards: Oval, Vassall, Stockwell, Ferndale (part), Angell and Larkhall.
A bid has been submitted to the Government for UK Online Centres CMF funding to support the project until March 2004.
Click here for a list of current partners.
There is more information in the following leaflets (note that our new coverage area is likely to include other parts of North Lambeth, apart from Oval and Stockwell).
