A romantic image of Vauxhall Bridge. Photographs taken later in the 19th century show the intense industrialisation of the river-bank, especially on the south side of the Thames. The position of the sun in the picture suggests that this is a view of the bridge as seen in the afternoon from the north side.
The original picture is in the Lambeth Archives, but they have no record of the artist's name.
