Local people,
community groups and local businesses within the village are
entitled to the free use of LubWeb®.
LubWeb is a free dial up Internet Service brought to you by
lubenham.org.uk.
Would you like a fast dial-up account with no engaged tones,
no dropped calls, no CD-ROM to install and no forms to fill
in? Immediate and free (other than local call charges) access
to the Internet via your Lubenham based ISP rather than one
of the large corporations?
You may use LubWeb alongside your existing ISP without affecting
your current settings.
To initially set up LubWeb just follow these simple instructions:
- Click
on 'My Computer' on your 'Desktop'
- Click
on 'Dial-Up Networking'
- Click
on 'Make New Connection'
- A box
will appear. In the section entitled 'Type a name for the
computer you are dialling' enter LubWeb
You do not need to alter anything else. Click 'Next'
- Another
box will appear. Enter the phone number 0845 609 1370 (this
is a local rate number). Click 'Next'.
- You have
finished! Click 'Finish'.
To access
the Internet via LubWeb just double click on the LubWeb icon
in your 'Dial-Up Networking Folder' accessed through 'My Computer'
or make a shortcut to it on your 'Desktop'.
When prompted
for a User Name enter 'LubWeb' and for a Password 'free'
Now just
start up your browser (Internet Explorer or Netscape) and
surf away!.
