Lancashire Youth Clubs Association

Is Lancashire's leading organisation for independent youth groups and clubs in the County. LYCA is a registered charity - number 518147, which was established in 1923, and is based on Fishergate Hill in Preston.

The Association's aim is:
To support and develop high quality voluntary youth work and educational opportunities for all young people in Lancashire.

What do we do?
As well as providing youth clubs and groups with information, advice, guidance and insurance cover, LYCA offers a youth development programme, access to the Youth Achievement Awards, training packages for volunteers on a range of issues including Child Protection, and opportunities to secure funding for youth club activities.

Network Information 1999 - 2000:
LYCA supports 102 member youth clubs and groups from throughout Lancashire, which provide opportunities for over 4,000 young people, and are supported by 413 volunteer youth workers.

Funded by:
LYCA receives funding from a wide range of funding bodies including the National Lottery Charities Board, Local Authorities, Borough Councils, Parish Councils, Grant making trusts, public donations, a Friends membership scheme, and annual subscriptions. LYCA is affiliated to Youth Clubs UK.
