2002 ..... U.K ..... the FIRST ever triathlon competition in Commonwealth Games history was held at the Salford Quays  near Manchester ..... and ..... Natalie Du Toit became the winner of the FIRST David Dixon award for the outstanding athlete at the Commonwealth Games when she was presented with the award in the closing ceremony of the 17th Commonwealth Games in Manchester
