1801 ..... U.K ..... the FIRST Parliament of Great Britain and Ireland was opened by George 111 

1914 ..... U.K ..... the very FIRST Cub Scout pack was formed in Sussex although the Cub Scout movement was not formally founded until 1916.  By the end of this year there were 6,000 Cub Scouts and 20 years later the number stood at more than 150,000 

1935 ..... U.S.A ..... legal history was made when for the FIRST time in America a lie detector test was allowed as evidence.  The Keeler Polygraph was used on 2 youths, Cecil Loniello and Tony Grignano who were accused of assault with intent to murder. They were found guilty. Shortly afterwards it was used to question Mrs Hauptmann about the kidnapping of the Lindbergh baby 

1973 ….. U.K ..... the FIRST Gingerbread Group was formed in Salford, England
