U.K ..... the new £50,000 Ladywell Hospital in Salford admitted its FIRST 76 patients.  In the beginning it was a fever hospital used by patients suffering from infectious diseases such as TB and scarlet fever but in the 1940s changed to mainly elderly care.  In 1999 the hospital closed its doors and was transferred to new premises at Hope Hospital called The Ladywell Building
