1911..... AUSTRALIA ..... the FIRST cinema to present a double bill of feature films was the Glacarium, Melbourne, Australia. The films shown were The Lost Chord and The Fall of Troy

 

 1928 ..... AUSTRALIA .....  the FIRST flying doctor service took to the air in Queensland, Australia. It was the brainchild of the Rev John Flynn of the Australian Inland Mission , later known as 'Flynn of the Inland'. The FIRST flying doctor was Dr K St Vincent Welsh who, with the Rev Flynn, provided remote homes with radio transmitters. In the first year alone they managed to treat 225 patients over a 600 mile radius
