1887 ..... U.K ..... Queen Victoria of Spain was the FIRST Royal baby born North of the Tweed for 300 years 

1901 ..... U.S.A .....  Annie Taylor became the FIRST woman to go over Niagara Falls in a barrel

1929 ..... the assassination attempt on Prince Humbert of Italy was the FIRST unscheduled event to be captured by the Sound newsreel camera. The cameraman was Jack Connolly 

1935 ….. U.S.A ..... Harmony Lane was shown for the FIRST time at New York's Astor Cinema ( Broadway and 45th Street). The film was based on the life of composer Stephen Foster and included his famous song Oh! Susanna. He died at the age of 38 and remains the youngest person whose sculpture is in New York University's hall of fame 

1977  ..... U.K ..... the Royal Bank of Scotland was the FIRST Scottish bank to offer on-line cash issuing terminals with the introduction of Cashline
