Lord George Bentinck, renowned racehorse owner, sportsman and gambler, pulled off one of the great racing coups of the century when he won the St Leger in Doncaster with a horse which all the bookmakers thought was a non-runner. He achieved it with the FIRST purpose-built horse box in history to be used for conveying a racehorse from one track to another covering the 224 miles from Goodwood to Doncaster.
