MARTIN AND SUE'S GOLDWING SITE
This is my first attempt at a webpage so be patient people
WELCOME
We are owners and riders of a Goldwing 1200 aspencade combo and members of the Goldwing Owners Club of Great Britain, a club of like minded bikers who enjoy all things Goldwing. We have camping weekends throughout the summer months all over the uk (wingdings) and one big meeting every year at a different place each time (treffen, german for of meeting of freinds) to which members of other goldwing clubs from Europe and farther a field come. at the last one there were over 1000 bikes present.

THE HISTORY
I got together with Sue after Knowing her a long time. Esmarelda as I like to call the bike, much to the annoyance of Sue, was bought by her and her late husband in 1992 as an import from the U.S.A. (Alabama) in solo form. The sidecar was fitted a year later so they could take the dog with them when going out. Esmarelda was taken to Spain when Sue and Tony (her late husband) moved there. Sue came back in 1997 and that is where I come in! After a lot of thought we decided to bring Esmarelda back to the uk in 1998. I had not ridden a bike in 15 years and a combo in 25 years ( The last one had been my uncles old beezer and only a couple of times) so as you can imagine I was a bit nervous to say the least!
The time came to go and when we arrived, charged the battery put it on and lo and behold she started first time, which was a wonder, she had been stood for almost a year. We had a problem with the hydraulics on the clutch system so she was despatched to Marbella to a bike shop to get sorted. three days later we went to pick her up so my first experience of "Winging" was posing down the main drag of one of the poshest places in spain!
We got back and packed up, camping gear in the trailer, the sidecar so full that we couldn't close the sunroof.
The jouney back was one of the best adventures that I have had. The weather was so hot that the extra heat from the engine burnt the inside of my legs but Esmarelda never missed a beat. If she was a women I think I may marry her!
