There has been a church on this site since before 950 A.D. The Normans replaced the wooden building with a stone built one, part of which still stands.

St Marys Chapel

Not as old as it looks! chapel was built the same time as St Marys homes in 1872 by Sir Gilbert Scott.

the buildings are arranged around three sides of a courtyard in the centre of which stands a well.
