Merstham Lies at the foot of the North Downs, close to Redhill and although surrounded by beautiful countryside it is also enveloped by motorways....the M25 and the M23 intersection, which cut a chunk out of the Downs here.

The older part of Merstham lies close to the A23 London to Brighton road. There have been settlements here since pre-Roman times, though the oldest building is probably the 13th century church of St. Katherine.
