Up on a hill above Merstham stands the little 13th century church of St Katherine.

This lych gate sits in the churchyard of St Katherine's Church, Merstham. It is constructed from the remains of Merstham post mill which used to stand in nearby Rockshaw Road, but had to be moved when the 'Quarry' railway line was built in 1900.
