This is the old village part of Merstham, with some of the houses dating from the 16th century. It was once the main High Street until the route from London to Brighton was redirected by a former owner of the estate. An annual Fair is held here.
Old Mill Lane
.....runs into Quality Street. There was once a windmill which stood in nearby Roackshaw Road.
the Old Schoolhouse
.....was built in 1816 and has some particularly attractive windows.
the Old Forge
This is the oldest building in Quality Street, dating from the 15th century.
Priors Mead
At one end of Quality Street, behind a brick gateway, is the large 17th century Priors Mead.
