Shere

Shere is said to be one Surrey's prettiest villages- it is certainly a 'picture postcard' village and has won the Best Kept Village Award on more than one occasion. White ducks adorn the Tillingbourne, with seats nearby to enjoy the view. The church square is lined with perfectly pretty cottages and houses, and the 12th century St James Church is well used and maintained - its lychgate, as well as some cottages in the village, was designed by the architect Edwin Lutyens. Even the spreading oak tree sits perfectly poised in the centre of the tiny village green.
