Many 17th century artifacts are on display in the museaum's indoor gallery. In the outdoor living history area, costumed interpreters demonstrate 17th century activities in the Powhatan Indian village, in the palisaded James Fort and on board life-size replicas of the three ships that sailed in 1607. YORKTOWNFollow the "road to the Revolution" at the Yorktown Victory Center. Gallery exhibits dramatically explain the "times" and politics of the era leading up to the Revolutionary War and ultimate surrender of Cornwallis at Yorktown. Other exhibits explore the events of the Revolution and colonial life, and include artifacts retrieved from British war ships. In the re-created Continential Army camp and colonial farmsite, costumed interpreters demonstrate 18th century activities. EUROPE IN ONE DAY !
