If you are about to launch your personal home page, then get a head start with these complete website designs, ready for you to download and customize before uploading to your ISP.

The front page of this website design is a meteor landing in an ocean somewhere over the horizon. It uses David Griffith's lake applet which adds a simulation of rippling water to a picture. A courtesy link to the applet author is on the panel, so you and your visitors can check out for improvements and information about the applet, if you want to customize it. We have put no visible link to our own webpages though there is a link on the page for you to use if you wish. If you do not use it it will at least remind some visiting search engines that we are still there, so we ask you not to erase it. Other webpages echo the colouring and medieval pattern decorating the page and the link buttons.
Click the screenshot to download AWWebSiteMeteor1.ZIP to the folder of your choice. You will need to unzip the zipped file using WinZip or some similar software that will allow long file names, making sure the directory structure is retained (in WinZip "use folder names")&151;this is a complete website design, including folders, for you to customize! The website design should open in your ie4 or ie5 browser with no further ado when you click index.html. You might need to do some tuning for other browsers.
The opening page has six links for you to customize, for which purpose you could use Notepad or some editor like Arachnophilia. One is to a menu page and the other five appear as patterned buttons which lead to five files in subfolders into which you can put your own material. As it comes the menu links are the same as the button links but you can obviously change that if you wish or if you use the menu, erase the front page buttons just keeping the image link to the menu file.
When you have modified tha files with your own content, upload them to your ISP using your FTP software. Shareware CuteFTP is simple to use but Freeware FTP software can be found.
