About Michael Moor Fact
File: photo by Frank Connor: From the Bond film Octopussy with Roger Moore: 1982 Born: Trinidad, 1955 Trained: 1 year Guilford School of Acting. 3years Rambert School of Ballet. Graduated 1979 15 minutes of 'fame' include: being a member of New York City's Dance Theatre of Harlem '79-82. Acting in 2 James Bond films, Octopussy and The Living Daylights as well as the mini series Lace. Most Rewarding Experience to date: working with the Education department of the Royal Ballet's 'Chance to Dance'. I also have very fond memories of working with the very talented children at the Sylvia Young Theatre School and Sylvia herself is such a love, I have never met anyone with such a good eye for potential talent. You would truly be surprised by the people she has trained. Worst Experience to date: falling on my ass in a performance of Troy Games and hearing the 2,000 strong audience give a collective 'gasp'! I never did like Los Angeles after that! Most influential person: Arthur Mitchell, Director of Dance Theatre of Harlem. A very driven man with a good deal of charm. Most intimidating person: well there are two of them Sir Fredrick Ashton and Dame Ninette ... I was introduced to them both at the same time ... very daunting! I doubt anyone would call them nice people. Very much the 'old school' and vaguely sinister was my impression at the time. Nicest person I worked with: Julie Walters! Hard working and generous, what a nice person! Worst person I worked with: no comment ... but a choreographer who shall remain nameless! Very talented but very unpleasant. He took his own inner frustrations out on other people...very bad form as far as I am concerned and unprofessional. Biggest idiot: a director who shall remain nameless! He asked me to put my hand through a glass window, I asked him to show me how it was done...he changed the scene! I hate people who ask you to do things they would not dare do themselves. Biggest Achievement: My first professional contract or getting my full equity card?...not sure which! What would I like to do most? I would like to do it all again! What would I like for my epitaph? He performed therefore he was! Favorite quote: "I have a dream" Martin Luther King Jr. The person I would most like to meet? The guy who stole my Swiss Army knife! |
