Thirlmere from the Swirls path

.. now pitched most of the way up Browncove Crags

the slopes rising to Helvellyn from the col with Lower Man

proof I reached the top!

the shelter just below the summit

looking from the shelter a ghostly figure appeared on top and disappeared silently into the mist

an important junction - left for Grisedale Tarn - right for Wythburn

still in the mist when the forest appeared below

.. but soon a misty view of Thirlmere

the pleasant path back to Swirls
