The Sunday services of worship are the central activity of Greenstead Evangelical Free Church. Here we meet to praise God, pray to Him and be taught by Him.
Our worship is governed by the Bible and therefore only includes what God's Word allows.
A typical format of the service might be as follows:-
Services are usually taken by the Pastor or one of the other recognised preachers in the Church.
The aim of the preaching is (generally) to go through books of the Bible chapter by chapter, to learn what God's Word has to say to us today. In addition there are regular evangelistic services, when the Gospel is clearly preached.
Around 100 people attend the 11.00am service and about 60 attend the 6.30pm service. The average age of the congregation is 25 to 30; a large number of young people and children attend. Usually, a number of students from different parts of the world also join with us.
At the morning service there is a crèche for young children during the sermon - our dedicated Sunday Discoverers and Bible Class meetings run before the morning service so that as many members of the church as possible can attend the service.
The church has an induction loop system installed and there is sign language for the deaf at every service.
All services are tape-recorded and copies are freely available.
We do hope that you will come along to one of our services if you are able to. There is no need to dress up, nor bring money (there is no collection), and there is even a cup of tea or coffee available after the service!
The Church also has a large selection of free literature and an extensive well stocked library of books, videos and cassette tapes.
