Women's Meeting

The ladies start gathering from 2.30pm onwards for tea and biscuits. Most weeks we have a service with hymns and approved speakers, but every 6-7 weeks we have a knitting session, when squares are knitted. These are made into blankets or small garments. These are then sent along with some small toys to a leprosy mission in Africa. Some of the blankets also go to a hospice on the local Highwoods estate.

Now and again we have a members meeting, when the ladies can contribute a favourite hymn, a Christian reading or even a solo; we love as many ladies as possible to join in.

In May we have an anniversary service, to which we invite other churches. After the service there is a tea. We also have an outing in July.

We give birthday cards to everyone who attends, and visit any sick members and the very elderly.

There are forty people on the register, and most weeks fifteen to twenty ladies attend. We are very blessed with members who provide transport for any elderly ladies.
