I was born in 1953 and grew up in an artists community in North London called the Abbey Art Centre. My mother was a refugee from Nazi Austria, and my father was the sculptor Peter King. He died at the age of 29, and you are invited to visit the web site constructed in his memory.
At the age of seven we moved to Oxfordshire where my family has settled, my mother in a small village, and my sister, a ceramicist, in the town of Oxford. I went to Magadalen College School, a public school, but showed little academic promise, being more interested in music and motorbikes. In my early twenties I became interested in yoga and the spiritual, and went to India where I became involved with the controversial guru, Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh, later known as Osho. It was his influence that set me on a path to unite the arts, sciences and the spiritual, though he referred to these areas as the three 'M's: Music, Mathematics, and Meditation (hence my triangular logo). I now have four degrees spanning these disciplines.
I currently work at London Guildhall University as Reader in Computer Art and Animation. I am indebted to the University for the academic freedom to pursue my cross-disciplinary interests.
