The articles in this section are a more recent collection of writings than the Essays in Applied Mysticism, though developing many themes from that period. I have settled on the formulation of 'Art, Science, and the Spiritual', rather than, for example, 'The Spiritual in Art and Science', because I don't want to imply that art or science necessarily contain the spiritual. Rather, it is a set of relationships I am exploring, and a sharing of approaches. For example: science needs the fluidity of art and the paradox of mysticism; the spiritual needs the creativity of art and the rigour of science; and art needs the humility of science and the humanity of the spiritual. |
