This is the heart of the MDateSelector and MDateEntryField and shows the calendar grid, the day labels and the controlling scrollbar. The image on the right shows is with a light grey background in the BeanBox. This also illustrates the Metal Look and Feel that has been provided for these components. This component may be used in any swing application. As the user selects dates using the mouse or keyboard, MMonthEvents are fired to the registered lsteners, the event types of interest will be NEW_DATE and NEW_MONTH.
The text field shown in the image is a MDateDisplay (also in the jar) which implements the MMonthListener interface and displays the selected date.
Future Developments
- The look and feels will be altered to enable custom ones to be built more easily from the ones provided. Also a new look and feel may be provided to illustrate the pluggable look and feel feature.
- Many of the features of these components have been suggested by the user base, thanks to them. If anyone has any new ideas please contact me and I shall consider them.
