The Shackleton - More Squadron Crew Photos

206 Sqn group photo at Sharjah in September 1967. Note the camel and droppings between the CO Stan N and our captain (Claude F).

210 Sqn group photo at Sharjah in 1967. My lot are on the outer port wing.

206 Sqn crew 6 and Flt Cdr Ops (John F) doing a bit of bundoo bashing
near Sharjah in 1967. We didn't bother with building a para tepee, but made a very large crew sleeping bag with
the parachute - these constituted crews were very close you know.

210 Sqn crew 3 in Majunga in 1968. I think this photo was taken when we were
waiting for the 204 Sqn Shack (Capt Dennis McQ) to land serviceable after an epically long transit from the UK.
They had two engine changes from BK to Akrotiri and missed their dip clearance over Egypt. We meanwhile did 3 months
in Majunga instead of 2. There's a great story of their trying to land at Khartoom, but I'll leave that to Dennis
or Gerry L (the first nav).

Ah those were the days of growing a mustache during detachments to pass the time. Me in Sharjah 1967.

Tiny Potter could whip up a cartoon during a flight to bring out the humour of any occurrence. The Shack crew cartoon accurately depicted crew members we had known.
