No baptism for James uness he is the James son of James & Bridget 1694. Perhaps the clerk wrote James instead of Philip as father?

1731-4 JC was a Lt. of the HAC; Capt 1734-46; Major 1746-59; Lt. Col 1759-death, being on the Court of Assistants.

1736 May 14th. His 2nd Marriage Licence dated. JC widower, of St Andrew Holburn married Lydia \\ late LEIGH, widow, of St Martin in the Fields, at St Paul's Cathedral. Married by brother in law (by 1st wife Frances ) the Rev. Geo.Lavington. by Bishop of London's Licence.

1764 Jul 7th JC member of Livery Co. of Clockmakers (date of Company Warrant)

1765 Jul 25 JC Assistant of Clockmakers' Co. later Renter Warden, of same.

1765 Oct 15th All clockmakers Company made livery members at this date.

1768 Known to have become the Master of the Company briefly, just before his death.

1767 Nov 6 Lt. Col. JC of HAC present at Lord Mayor's Day.

1768 Sep 5 JC's Will proved at Commissary Court, London, & was made1day before his death.

1768 Sep 23 JC was already dead when King of Denmark dined with Lord Mayor. From HAC records

1st Death notice Gents Mag. "JC Esq, father of Rev. Mr C. Chancellor of Exeter".

2nd notice in The London Magazine, aka Gent's Monthly Intelligencer, "died lately " Lt. Col. J. Carrington of The London Trained Bands. Now fully believed that these two men are the same person.
