A Brief tribute from Lisa Davidson (Alexander Palace
Association)
³Born in Chicago, "Rosti" was the son of Prince Rostislav Alexandrovich (1902-1978) and his first wife, Princess Alexandra Galitzine (b.1905 and later Mrs. Armour). This ancestry - the combination of the Romanov and Galitzine lines - caused many to view Rosti as the rightful heir to Nicholas II. He was the grandson of HIH the Grand Duchess Xenia Alexandrovna(1876 -1960) and HIH the Grand Duke Alexander Mikhailovich (1866 - 1933) and thus the great grandson of HIM Tsar Alexander III.
Rosti died in the same month - 80 years later - as his great uncle, HIH the Grand Duke George Mikhailovich (b. 1863) was murdered in the Fortress of Peter and Paul along with three other Grand Dukes.²
