| Notes for Catherine Croker |
|
After their mother's death Catherine and sister Margaret were
made wards of John Wilson Croker & Richard Hely-Hutchinson, the
1st Earl Donoughmore, who was related to the politician Edmund
Burke through his sister.
Came back from South Africa to get money from Mother's Wil which solicitors had "embezzled". Hardly anything of it left. Jane Mary Giffard states Catherine was fond of gardening. A big looking woman, untidy, who used to scold the children and kept her husband in very good order.
