Lt. of Marines. to Miss Elizabeth Edey Peters of Exeter.
1793 19 May. He was a 2nd Lt. of 30 Co.RM at Plymouth 1795 1 Apr. He was a 1st Lt. of 3 Co. RM at Plymouth 1795 23 Jun. He was N.G.S.M of HMS "Galatea" 1799 12 Sep. He was on half pay. 1809 He was twice mentioned in dispatches for Gallantry on "Bellerophon" against the Russians. 1848 Will made. Dorset Wills PCC. Quire 914 W 1850 Obituary in Gents' Mag. "At Weymouth, aged 72, Capt Wm H Carrington, late Barrack Master of Weymouth and Dorchester, (and Isle of Man) formerly of Royal Marines." WHC had been Adjutant of the Fencible Infantry Devonshire & Cornwall (Halls Regt.) whose Colours are laid up in St Margaret Topsham Witness at son Wm Hy's marriage in I Of Man.
