Minutes of League Management Committee meeting - 02/12/02
Minutes of a meeting of
The Management Committee of
THE NORTH KENT JUNIOR LEAGUE
held on Monday 2nd December 2002 at Bexley Hospital (at 8pm)
Present: John Monk (Chairman), Mike Donnelly (Secretary), Steve Nash, Peter Wooderson and Tina Slater (by invitation).
1. Apologies for Absence
From Martin Thomas.
2. Minutes of the Last Meeting
The minutes of the meeting held on 7th October 2002 were approved as a true record and signed by the Chairman.
3. Matters Arising
No matters not covered in the Agenda.
4. Officers
John Monk welcomed Mike Donnelly as the new League Secretary.
Offices still vacant are the Registration Secretary and representative (preferably from East Kent) on the KCB Youth Committee.
5. League Structure for 2003
As agreed at the AGM, this will be the same as in 2002.
6. League Applications
A ballot of the member clubs gave the following results:
Shooters Hill (2001) - For 11, Against 2, Abstentions 1
The Mote Under 13 - For 11, Against 2, Abstentions 1
The committee agreed, therefore, to admit both teams to the League. John Monk to advise their secretaries.
The difficulties of travelling to Maidstone were discussed. It would appear that The Mote are intending to play their home games on Saturday or Sunday mornings.
A letter had been received from Cobham, whose entry to the League had been approved at the AGM, advising that it was no longer possible for them to enter a team in our league at under 13 level next season.
7. Finance
Peter Wooderson reported that eight Clubs have still not paid their subscriptions for last season. Also 4 clubs still owe monies for extra trophies and 3 clubs owe £30 in fines. Peter has written recently to all of the clubs concerned. It was agreed that if payments are not received by 31st December 2002, then clubs will be withdrawn from the League. Steve Nash is to liaise with Peter at the end of December.
Peter Wooderson advised that, provided the outstanding monies are received, we should end the year with a surplus of approx. £200.
Peter Wooderson has replaced the John Tutt Trophy at a cost of £60 and he will write to John Tutt to advise him.
Steve Nash reminded the meeting that the Accounts will need to be audited. Peter Wooderson to ask for volunteers at the Spring meeting.
8. League Funding
Tina Slater informed the meeting of a good opportunity of funding via the "Awards for All" Scheme. Up to £5,000 may be available.
Tina gave suggestions as to possible areas for which a claim could be made.
