Richie, while Sixfileds was being built it was known as the Nene Stadium or something like that but because R&D's called their ground Nene Park the name Sixfields Stadium was arrived at after a competition/vote organised via the Chron. to name the ground . Before the ground was built the area was known as Sixfields.

Weve got to accomodate Sammo yet . A genuine selection headache for Broads as I thought both centre halfs played well on Tuesday. Would thought that Spedding would get nod at Left back over Frainy as the new signing for Cardiff Cambell is meant to be lightning quick.
North Stand Just at 17:8:2 Thursday February 28 2002

Richie ffnz - Last term 52 points (swindon) were justenough to survive. If this holds for this season, we need something like 5 wins and a couple od draws. 6 wins would, of course, cut the mustard too!

Great result, but i don't like Broadhurst moving the defence about so late in the game when he makes subsitutions.Hunter/Marsh had the wings sown up, to mess about when they are so solid is dangerous, didn't Vales chances only come after the changes.Hodge for Gabbi/Derek for Mcgregor, jamie moves to left mid-field i think would of been better, but we won, so it don't matter now.Lets show them monsters from that rainy hilly landfil site on sat what we do. 3-1 (McGregor scores)

Have to disagree with your observations of Parkin, Childs view. The lad was in my view only just pipped to mom by the excellent Richard Hope. His hold up play was excellent, he won more than his fair share of headers - the only thing I would say negative about his performance last night was that maybe he neeeds to be a tad more greedy and go for goal more. Regarding KB's tactics, I too am not convinced about them, particularly his use of substitutions. All game we had Vale on the rack yet with 10 minutes to go on comes Spedding - playing his first football in over a month - to shore up a defence that quite honestly didnt need to be shored up. The result? A blinding save by Welch and a shot that went inches wind .The best form of defence is to attack - replacing the tiring Gabbadini with a hungry Hodge with 20 minutes to go was my way I thinking last night -followed by Dellboy for Mcgregor shortly after. Having said that - what a great performance - the best so far this season.

A Childs View at 17:26:42 Wednesday February 27 2002
Excellent performance - the spine of the team in Welch, Burgess, Hope, Hunt and Hargreaves were absolutely first class. They can't have lost out on more than a handful of 50-50s all night. I genuinely believe we will stay up, I'm not a fully paid-up member of the KB tactical genius fan club, however, he is getting the same players who previously struggled to believe and play with confidence and ability. Looking forward to Saturday. I have to have a bit of a moan - Parkin didn't win enough in the air, he had been making progress over recent games but didn't do enough to hold the ball up and provide a platform for the rest of the team!
Middleton Cobbler at 13:52:29 Wednesday February 27 2002

Paul S at 12:48:39 Wednesday February 27 2002
We might be in abeggars cant be choosers situation, but not Brian Richardson please. He managed to turn Coventry from a small but stable club into a small but highly indebted outfit. They've sold their ground, have given away their stake in the new ground for a short term loan, and are still at least 30million in debt. If they don't get promoted they are in serious danger of going under.

Board members of Northampton met earlier than usual before last nights game, and draw your own conclusions Bryan R was at the game. McGregors best game but still below the standard of the rest of a great TEAM, he had 2 shots but when he got the ball you always knew what was coming next!!!

Interesting to read Broadhursts comments about us being poor on the flanks against chesterfield, and that he will give Hodge aand Dereck more time tonight if things are not going to plan. Everybody in the away end on Saturday could see that the game was crying out for those 2 to enter the fray, yet KB only gave Del 10minutes and persisted with the ineffective Gabba at the expense at bringing Hodge on at all. He then complanis that the fans were getting on the players backs yet only 2 days later comes to exactly the same conclusion! On a more positve note, Broads does appear to be getting the best out of his players more so than not,and a glancre at the run ins that the bottom 6 have suggests that out chances ogf escaping the drop are higher than most. With the exception of Bournemouth (the least form side at present) we have the most winnable games. Burys looks particularly testing.

re: North Stand Just - I don't think the linesman was flagging for offside before Chesterfield's equaliser, I think he was flagging for a foul by a Cobblers player and the ref played advantage, however I think if Chesterfield's second goal had to stand then so should Jamie's disallowed effort - both appeared offside, but Jamie was penalised, Chesterfield weren't

FAO A Childs View. First half in the blizzard we were awsome mate. Flowing football that played them off the park. Hope scored a beaut with his head. Their first goal was given offside before they scored by the linesman. Ref played on they scored. Ref gave a goal: didn't even bother having a chat with his assistant (bit off if you ask me!) Forrester scored a nice one just outside the six yard box (given offside). Their centre backs were the worst we've played against all season couldn't cope with any half decent delivery in the box. After halftime they brought Parrish on and squeezed us up the pitch. Welch nearly saved their second. From then it was basically a relief when the final whistle went. Hunt had cleared one of the line and we stole a point. Weather was horrible and Gabbiadini had a mare. MOTM was Burgess.

Two tough ones coming up, in form Vale and new manager Cardiff. 6 points would be amazing, 4 would be brilliant, 3 wouldn't be too bad - just have to wait and see. Just been looking at the table - very tight! Our game in hand to get safe has gone after Saturday, however, Pish look much closer to trouble than before. Looking forward to tomorrow, hopefully a good turn out from Cobblers fans - who could stay away, the rest of the season is very very interesting indeed!

I didn't refer to Hope as a left back Tosh, I said he was a left sided defender. Too use Swindon as an example of his pace is a bit unfair as he was up against arguably the football league's quickest player. Marsh is decidedly uncorftable playing at left-back, time and again he had to check inside to get on his right foot, which took out any momentum we had going forward from the back and resulted in us giving up possession too easily, particularly in the second half. As for Farrell he wasn't on Roy's side first half and didn't perform to his usual standard as he was carrying a slight groin pull, he had to play due to the amount of injuries. But I thank you for pointing out that I do not speak tosh, NSJ.

Tactician don't talk tosh! Hope is not a leftback he would have been killed for pace in that position (as he was at Swindon) Marsh is capable of playing pretty much anywhere. Hunter was used in that position to counter Farrell who normally crucifies us.....and it worked. The substitutions at the end were to give us more steel down the wings which the scum were pushing down. Broadhurst is well aware of what he's doing

A Childs View at 12:21:1 Thursday February 21 2002
It's interesting - football is definitely subjective, one man's stupid blunder is another's tactical masterstroke. On reflection, I'm being a bit picky about the Poo game, I stand by my comments about the QPR game though - KB was too slow to react which lead to their second goal. Win our game in hand and we are out of the relegation zone - at least a point from the Chesterfield game needed to keep the momentum going..

Tactician at 11:13:22 Thursday February 21 2002
I find the comments of Childs View pretty close to my own. Most of what he says carries creedence. Why play a right back at left back, play a midfielder at right back and leave a capable left sided defender on the bench? I too found the substitutions a little quirky. Generally we seem to make things even harder for ourselves that they already are.

I have been cleaning toilets for 34 years and I tell you I have cleaned some massive drops. One was in the rim for at least two weeks. I actually became quite attatched to it. i called it Fred. Some bloke then flushed it away and left me feeling alone.
Sid at 21:29:47 Wednesday February 20 2002
Childs Play - definitely nit picking for some bits, (!) but Broads' decisions do make some sense. The substitutions were spot on IMHO in retrospect. Burgess may be no right back, but nor is Hunter - it was wise to push Hunter up to shore the midfield (natural position), while Hope slots into central defence (again, natural position and looked assured). In fact, that was the team I would possibly have started with, maybe with the exception of McGregor. I felt Burgess and Sammo were ripped apart by the Posh attack in the first period, so it was wise of Broads to do this. Marsh really annoyed me - he should know better as a full back not to leave such vast gaps to the winger French on his side - The West Stand were livid that he kept leaving him on his own - Hargreaves had a barney at him aswell!

A Childs View at 20:13:17 Wednesday February 20 2002
...was in acres on the West stand side! Also, Jamie for Asa when Gabbi was obviously knackered, fair enough he got took off 10 mins later but it was a curious decision. May be I'm nitpicking - we did win after all and KB must be exerting a positive influence - I just wonder about some of the decision making, perhaps its just how different people see the game, perhaps its because KB's a professional and I'm not!! Great opportunity at Chesterfield and as the comment below said - its back in our hands now, I for one am looking forward to the rest of the season!! Takover update please Mr Hodder!
A Childs View at 20:9:53 Wednesday February 20 2002
Great result last night, well done lads - now I'm going to be critical! What was McGregor doing for the Poo goal? If he has in the wall, he should have stayed there, if his job was to rush the kick, why wasn't the wall better positioned to cover the massive gap that he left - one for the training ground KB. I also thought KB's substitutions were curious - I can't help but feel the team are geting some better results in spite of KB's decision making rather than because of it. McGregor for Hope made sense, but pushing Burgess t right back and Roy into midfield is dangerous - Roy had done well at right back but looked lost in the middle, the game seemed to pass him buy. Burgess is no right back. It also meant swapping the central defensive two around before the last 20 mins of expected Poo pressure, Hopey's only just come back - Sammo & Burgess had done well all game, why make such a fundamental change - wouldn't 532 have been better to prevent some of the width Poo were getting, French..

A good all round performance, especially in the first half, and again, as with Brentford, we looked much the better side, until the last 20 minutes with them throwing reverybody forward. Good to see Sam Parkin get MOTM. He has got better and better, but unfortunately Jamie is going the other way. His confidence is just not there in front of goal. Great performances from Sammo and Burgess, and from Hunt and Hargreaves, but everybody played a part and it was good entertainment. We're staying up!!!

So the deadline for bids for the club was put back! It seems to me just another way for the board to put off the inevitable day when they have to admit to themselves (and the supporters) that no-one wants or can afford the club. They will be forced to sell Forrester for some rediculously small sum on the fast approaching transfer deadline day if only to repay the PFA loan.

Put covenants in to ensure community use? Yes, do that, we would welcome that, we are nothing without community involvement. Give us the ground leasehold? Of course, a 120-year peppercorn lease is no problem. We aren't asset strippers, we want to develop Northampton Town Football Club. When I look at the potential of that place, it frightens me."
Anon at 7:17:44 Monday February 18 2002
"They had a poll: 85% of Northampton fans want John Fashanu to take over. That's a landslide. Will it happen? For three months, we've been patient. Personally, John Fashanu would like things to speed up. But the council own the ground and they have been very prudent about selling it to us. Rightly, they have to protect their own interests. But we won't buy the club without the ground.
Anon at 7:16:6 Monday February 18 2002
If Fashanu is successful in buying Northampton (and, although other parties have their doubts, he says all that remains is some contractual crossing and dotting), fans of the Cobblers will be in for interesting times. For there is nothing shy or retiring about this 39-year-old.
Anon at 7:15:16 Monday February 18 2002
People ask," he says, "what can John Fashanu bring to Northampton? In a word: glamour. Lennox Lewis is a personal friend of mine, he will be coming down, and Audley Harrison . . . I bumped into Audley the other day and he said: 'Fash, bought that football club yet? Well, I want tickets.' And will the lovely and talented Ulrika Jonsson be sitting on the third row of the main stand? You bet she will." Phew, sure beats signing a new full-back.
The Guardian Reporter at 7:13:48 Monday February 18 2002
The decor in the reception area of Winners World Wide plc's north London office has a consistent theme. All over the walls are pictures of John Fashanu, WWW's chief executive and the man currently negotiating to take over Northampton Town FC. There's Fash beaming next to Don King, Fash flashing a grin alongside Patrick Vieira, Fash having a laugh with Vinnie Jones. On one wall is a huge blown-up shot of Fash enjoying a night on the town with Ian Wright, George Weah and their wives. The aptness of this design theme becomes clear when the man himself strolls in, dropping in his wake a who's who of names - particularly his own.

But a 24-hour religious television channel called Inspiration TV, launched in September 1999 with backing from Fashanu, has reported debts of around £2million.

Northampton Town have announced that season tickets for the 2002/03 season will be available for purchase immediately. The board of directors have announced that supporters will be able to buy a season ticket for the 2002/03 season at this season's prices if they purchase before 15 March 2002. Chairman Barry Stonhill said, "We urge supporters to renew early. The financial situation of the club is well-known and it is vital that the fans continue to back the club as far as they can. Wage costs are still spiralling and this will be reflected in the prices of season tickets puchased after March 15th."

Surely we should not be part of this buy by talk that's for the parties with the money. They should also know what the council value Sixfield for , for sale or lease, before having to submit an agreement. Why are we watching this deadline when before we couldn't be told anything? Why all the fuss several weeks ago on the media? Can someone please tell us the facts?Or do we just have to watch our club sink or survive? There's no point to my message I'm just fed up of waiting for some hopefully good news.

If no bids are recived today I'm sure the club will still discuss the sale of the club with any interested parties including those who are subject to today's deadline. Not a bad idea to create some sort of "buy by" date although it will probably be "bye bye" as far as Fash is concerened.

The problems at the club started long before it was officially for sale. Probably about the time when Barry Ward stood down and the board threw caution to the wind and allowed Atkins and then Wilson to sign who they wanted regardless of what it cost.

Crossing the I's and dotting the T's - quote from BS some 4 weeks ago. It has since become apparent that no offer has ever been made. He now hints that season tickets for next yeatr will be put up for sale early! Bollocks! If 6 wealthy business men cant muster up 80grand between them to pay off the PFA and thus allow Broads at least an opportunity to bring in a loan man or two to help keep us up, thenm he has got 2 hopes of expecting supporters to fork out 300 quid to watch a struggling 3rd division team next season. Someone on here said a while back that when you put your house up for sale you still carry on cleaning and maintaining it - perhaps if Stonehill and co had bothererd with the upkeep of NTFC whilst interested parties mulled over buying it, we wouldnt be in the position we are in now - both on and off the pitch.

....know when that was filmed though. Hodder was also interviewed and reconfirmed the Thursday deadline for the 3 interested parties to confirm their offers - I'm expecting lots of news on Friday!!! The QPR fans in the West stand was out of control on Saturday - I'm all for selling the tickets if someone can sit on their hands and shut up if the away team score - we've all done that! What caused the bother though was QPR fans jumping and celebrating! I wish football was different and that opposing fans could watch a game together, fact is though, it isn't a riot could have ensued, there were punches thrown just 2 seats to the left of me - does anon want that at more games?
A Childs View at 19:0:31 Monday February 11 2002
Thanks Tactician - I certainly wasn't trying to be smug, merely point out something that I'd have thought managers would have done as a matter of course. KB is still learning though, perhaps he'll pick up on the point and have back-up plans already established for future games. A definite example of management having an impact on a game I'd have thought. I've just watched the ITV sport channels 2nd division program which featured us this weekend. Roy's penalty decision looked dubious and McGregor's looked a definite pen - they didn't show Parkin getting mullered by the QPR goalie but I have to say we were a bit unlucky with the decisions. Asa's chance at the end should've won it, he could have scored or simply squared it to Jamie - still, he's learing and scored an absolute wonder goal - great stuff so it's not right to be too critical. Get him on a longer contract - soon. The program also had an interview with Fash stating he wanted the deal to go through - I don't know when that.....

Would have to agree with GUS. Even though I wasn't there I received positive reports about Hodge's performance vs QPR - what does the man have to do to get a proper chance??? He turned the game at Swindon, so nearly got us a point and has looked sharp, lively and effective whenever he's played, even though he usually only gets 10 minutes or less. Anyone who's played any sort of football will tell you how difficult it is to get into a game in the last ten minutes at any level, let alone Div2 !!!!

Will be interesting to see what happens on Tuesday if DA starts as rumoured. Felt sorry for Hodge; waits half a season to start and has to be substituted after 15 mins because of sending-off. In the guise of the father of an autograph-hunting daughter, I spoke to Chris Carruthers after the match. His feeling was that he'd be out for a while, not just Tuesday. More problems caused by small squad, players are thrown in while unfit and are wrecked as a result for the sake of less than 90 mins.
GUS at 23:27:37 Sunday February 10 2002
Yesterday's match had everything. Rarely can I have gone away from a draw feeling so uplifted. Didn't get a good view of the penalty incident being at the wrong end of the ground for all four goals, but neither did the ref, who was yards off the play. Couldn't say if the right decision was made, but did get a view of the Parkin push which seemed an obvious penalty but was ignored. Although we left in a positive frame of mind, the truth is that we produced little in the second half up to that point to suggest a thrilling turn-arund was possible. QPR poured forward in wave upon wave, and if anyone disgrees, why was Welch made MOM. It took a few seconds of genius from Asamoah to make it all possible. There is no more stirring a sight than to see a Cobblers player willing to take on and beat a defence. I thought the three up front worked well with Jamie cutting in from the left too. The problem was the gap left in midfield to provide the service. To be continued.

Can't agree with Bloke w.a.t. We have suffered endless streams of officials at least as bad as yesterdays, and we can't be the only club that they get sent to. The problem is quite simple. They have no experience of how the game is played, have never played the game to any level themselves and are put in control of a situation about which they have no personal aptitude or experience. You might as well ask me to judge the ice dancing at the Olynpics. Until we have ex players andmake the job professional we will suffer these clowns week after week. The only competent referee I have seen this season was at the Stoke game

Great performance from the lads today, what character!! Pity Asa couldn't have finished in the last minute though. As soon as I saw Mr Harris' name in the programme I was worried today - didn't he have a shocker!! Broads had a mare today - it took him 10 minutes for the tactical readjustment, by which time we'd conceded a second!! Also, during the 10 mins after Roy's sending off, we had Sammo on the right, Hopey in the middle and Mrash on the right - an immediate change should have been Hopey on the left of the three, Sammo central and Marsh on the right - much more balanced whilst he did his thinking! 10 minutes - shouldn't managers work out what they'd do if any starting player was lost before kick off - NOT GOOD KB, the lads did well despite your decision making, not because of it! Also, anyone could see Carruthers was no where near fit - he was hobbling as soon as he came on!! Why not Dempsey and Marsh to left back - we've lost Carruthers again now to what looks like an achilles...

With all four sides of the ground completed by the Summer of 1997, work started on the re modelling of the North Stand. Thought by many to have been ambitiously over large when constructed in 1993, it had been actually been found to bee too small and poses to few facilities. The Press Box was moved along the stand to allow room for the construction of prestigious corporate boxes along the back row of the stand. The work was scheduled to be completed by March 1998. On the outside of the stand a new office block was added allowing the club to centralise it administration facilities, also built was a state of the art 150 square metre Souvenir and Doc Shop. The entire complex was official opened on July 16th 1998 by UNCLE Max Griggs.

The first signs of a decade of development became visible in February 1992 when new Chairmen UNCLE Max Griggs official started the re development of Nene Park by digging the first footings for the new North Stand. The 1,000 seater North Stand replaced the small covered terrace which stood on the north side of the ground, never again would any one twist an ankle as they stumbled off the single shadowy row of slabs while making their way to the exit at a midweek game. The North Stand was completed in the summer of 1993 just in time for the final pre season friendly, 1,000 fans packed the new stand to watch the Diamonds beat Northampton Town 1-0.

Over the last decade Nene Park as been transformed from a small United Counties League ground into a home worthy of League Football, 10 years of construction as left nothing of the old Nene Park which was home to Irthlingborough Diamonds for over thirty years. The land, which Nene Park is built on, was acquired from the local water board in 1969, this land situated next to the A6 on the outskirts of the town was to be the new home of Irthlingborough Diamonds, the team had finally found themselves a home after years of playing in the town's recreational ground in Manton Road.

PANIC AT SIXFIELDS at 12:2:50 Tuesday February 5 2002
Northampton Town Chief Executive Gary Hodder has today written to both Northampton Borough Council and Winners World Wide to try and move matters regarding the future of Northampton Town Football Club and Sixfields Stadium forward. Mr Hodder said, "It is my intention to make supporters aware exactly where we stand before Saturday's game with QPR, and time is moving on. I have written to Winners World Wide as the sale agreement has not yet arrived. I have also written to Northampton Borough Council for a response from them on the valuation of Sixfields so that an offer can be made. The whole process has been going on for almost 2 months now since the original communication and we need to start moving matters forward. I feel the supporters deserve to know exactly where we stand and I will bring them up to date before Saturday's game with QPR. Hopefully, if the necessary responses are received, the picture will become a lot clearer."

It could be done quite easily, thing is I haven't got time to run it, I can set it up if someone else wants to manage it.

How about setting up another board like this one. It would only take a few minutes.
ANON at 16:24:2 Sunday February 3 2002
And that.
X MOUNTY at 16:21:57 Sunday February 3 2002
Steady ANON, Ray might censure that?
ANON at 16:18:29 Sunday February 3 2002
The only trouble with that idea A Childs View, is that Ray, tends to be a bit biased with what he censures.
Richie Fan From NZ Spelling Mistake of the Day. Sponsored by The Concise English Dictionary. at 16:7:53 Sunday February 3 2002
Hello Boys. Its your favarite spelling nightmare here. This week I have been practicing spelling people names. I have always struggled with that. Christamas and birthday cards for me were a real frightener. I have confronted this fear and brought for $4.00 an A-Z of people names. This has givan me the confidance to spell peoples names corectly.

No, all posts should be anon not Anon, or we caould all post as Gareth Wilsher and then try to detect which are his and which are not. Bloody cheek calling me big boy. Your the one with the big capital A !!

Ray, Please E-mail details of CC2.

I suggest that the name box be removed and all posts be Anon. Anyone with an ounce of intelligence can tell the genuine posters from the fake ones.

Well said Anon!! but should we not rise against you for the same reason?
The Ghost of Comments Future at 12:31:18 Sunday February 3 2002
The site could improve, but the problems is that all the good posters have long since flown from the hen house ie Hartwell, Steve Riches TCMP etc and who can blame them, perhaps we can talk to them and get them to post on the same day and start a genuine debate about what is happening.
Anon at 12:29:50 Sunday February 3 2002
Can someone rise to the bait and launch into a tirade at anon? Not least of which for being another anon. No I am not a hypocrite!
anon at 12:27:40 Sunday February 3 2002
was not the fake Phil Baron posting about WWW below posted by no other than the spin master general himself MR GW, the same man who painted the SELL SIXFIELDS NOW banner and the same GW who is responsible for all those club pronouncements which contridict themselves the day after they are printed? I think we should be told.
anon at 12:20:59 Sunday February 3 2002
I see inside left/shut it are still on their boring anti Trust trips, havn't they learnt that most of us dont give a flying f***. All some people want to use this site for is to slag off others The board get slated for not spending enough of their own money, The MP gets slagged off for being an MP, Travel Clubs get slagged off for running coaches, what a laugh, I think Not

poaters? lod? nuff said!
The Ghost of Comments Past. at 12:4:3 Sunday February 3 2002
The Rubber Duck talks sense. There are some "decent" poaters over on CC2 but it lacks any edge doesn't it? The great thing about this site in the past was the fact that it was open to all to read, including players and Board members. There have always been "idiot" posters but the sensible (though still humerous) usually outnumbered them. So come back all the lod posters and take face them head on, not hiding in some hidden site. Sorry if there's any spelling errors but I can't be bothered to scroll back through this crap letterbox that passes as a comment box. Sort it Ray.
A Childs View at 11:58:17 Sunday February 3 2002
Good idea Rubber - get all the chat in one place and give Ray license to delete anything he feels is tosh, this can only elevate the discussion and restore CC to its former glory - it'll also save looking at too many different boards!!
A Childs View at 11:55:43 Sunday February 3 2002
Blimey - KB having a right spaz on the official site!! Frustrating yesterday, conceding the second goal when we did was very poor. I've just watched it on TV and have to say that Burgess was slow to react. We've got little break now, lets get some players back and continue the push to safety. Mr Hodder - can we have a takeover update please????
RUBBER DUCK at 10:35:0 Sunday February 3 2002

Thanks for caring JJJ - the coach back from County was most enjoyable, lots of singing and rejoicing!! I'm touched by your concern. The other Childs are all well, some of us will be at Swindon on Saturday, others will not. Are all the other J's going to the match, or are there only 3? Hopefully see you before the match and we can a share chip together. Best wishes to all the other J's!

I spoke with a representative of WWW yesterday evening and according to him Fash the Cash is planning on using the Cobblers as a base to bring in young Nigerians and bypass immigration laws. He said this can be done given Fash's UK background and some Trade agreement between Blair and the Nigerians. Maybe TCMP would like to comment?I have posted this here and not on CC2 as it can be read by everyone, I have photos of my contact to back up these claims.Ray if you mail me I'll send copies so that you can publish them via this site.

See you and your family at Swindon. probally in the chippie. having the football special
oldbrook cobbler at 22:55:55 Friday February 1 2002
im a fairly new user on here so i cant really comment but there seems to be a lot of people impersonating other people which seems a little odd? also there seems to be other teams supporeters using the cobblers site which again is odd as you would think they would have their own teams sites to go on. other than that seems an ok site and i enjoy reading the match reports from the real supporters who actually go to the games week in week out. i go when i can but work etc dictates when i can and cant go. lets hope the cobblers stay up this year then we can push on next year hopefully with a new owner and some much needed money.
Gomez at 22:37:41 Friday February 1 2002
Yes, Interesting how the smug self-satisfied CC2 contibutors have destroyed this board rather than the much publicised prats. CC2 is all very well for now, but where are the new members coming from if nobody is using CC1? It's a shame to have seen this board deteriorate so much over the last couple of years. And YOU know who is to blame......

to all of you slagging off barry parker, piss off. they put a lot of hard work into running that travel club. and little do you see the back stabbing that went on to them. Clarke (supposed to be a supporters rep) gets free travel to every away game for him and others, god knows how many other freebies, and is blatantly an MP on a power trip (He only won cause the tory party are shite) how often do you see the chairman of the trust (DAVE....???) at away games, or even home ones for that matter. lets finish the argument here and just get on with it. a lot went on behind peoples backs,a nd the ones stirring it up now (CLARKE) are the ones who had the knives out and are only in it for personal gratifications. Delusions of grandeur i think. SHUT IT)

Welch; Dempsey, Burgess, Sampson, Hope; Marsh, McGregor, Hunter, Gabbiadini; Parkin, Forrester (4-4-2). That's what I reckon he'll do but I would prefer Marsh at full-back and Asamoah right-side midfield but Broads doesn't rate him for 90 mins.

Trevour - Blackpool sold Brett Ormerod for 1.75 muillion to Southampton - just as well because without him they are falling down the table. They're my favourites for the fourth relegation spot

Sixfields Travel Club have anmnounced they are to sponsor a new football club called 'Northampton Towne F.C.'. This new side has persuaded Northampton Borough Council to allow them to play at Sixfields on a regular basis. The tickets for all their matches will always be one pound cheaper than those for any other team playing in the stadium. A spokesman said 'Yus, me lady'. Meanwhile Sixfields Travel Club are to split into three allowing fairer distribution of the fan base across a wider playing field. This is seen as a good move by the owners as they can now swim like the sardines against the tide of intelligence.
