We've been in a relegation battle for the last 2 and a half seasons. Have you just noticed or something? Or are you blaming the present lot for our ineptitude, the seeds of which were sown years ago?

Tarqun at 19:57:29 Friday January 31 2003

Wasn't it Abba's Waterloo? "I feel like I win when I loose" I hate f**king Abba!

Gavin Peahen at 18:14:29 Friday January 31 2003
LH: That sounds like a Smiths song.

Bazza at 18:12:23 Friday January 31 2003
Looks as if Trolly's back in tommorrow. The positive side is that it probably means Macca is dropped. I hope he plays Burgess with Reid but I think he'll probably stick with, Hope(less). After all, you should never change a losing side. Is that right?

LH at 17:01:00 Friday January 31 2003
How do we win when we loose ?

Up the Cobblers at 16:38:39 Friday January 31 2003
So many caveats for love. Too much reticence for support. Spite in abundance. Fuck losers. Cobblers win. Always. Even if lose.

LH at 16:31:11 Friday January 31 2003
Are you Atkin's in disguise....Are you Atkin's in disguise ?

Chuck Breem at 15:54:53 Friday January 31 2003
Come on Cobblers, the window closes soon and we have no goalscorers!

Cobblers at 15:44:52 Friday January 31 2003
Looks like we're gonna bore the pants off of everyone at Gresty Road tomorrow. We can sit back and defend and defend and defend, at some point they'll find a way through, that we can be sure.

Phil Baron at 15:44:28 Friday January 31 2003
Will the tipping table ever be updated?

tick tock twat at 13:13:50 Friday January 31 2003
will you get it into your thick skull that the transfer window only applies to premiership clubs and non EU players.

according to the pre-match info on BBC sport that Crewe expect at 4-5-1 from us against them as 'they need to find a better way of playing against a lone forward'...

Wow one player inquiry... Fenwick looks towards future By Simon Sidwell Date: 31/1/2003 Cobblers boss Terry Fenwick today spoke about his first two games in charge after taking over as Northampton Town manager over three weeks ago, as well as the failed signing of Nigel Pierre and just how the squad will cope with their away match at Crewe this Saturday. It has not been the best of starts to a resurrected managerial career in England - with two defeats in two matches. Blackpool and Peterborough have both conquered the Cobblers, and Fenwick believes that the whole team are not to blame for defeats. "The two defeats have been down to individual mistakes rather than the team not functioning particularly well." said a bold Fenwick. "They are looking like they are enjoying it, and they have realised that they need to work as a team and not as individuals, and I am fairly confident that we will turn things around. Nigel Pierre work permit application failed yesterday because the Trinidad and Tobago striker had only played in 71% of internationals in the past two years - the limit being 75%. However, the Cobblers manager was adamant he would still pursue Pierre in the summer. "It was a big blow not being able to bring Nigel Pierre to the club. We will have obviously missed this transfer window, but Nigel will be playing in the Gold Cup in March, and that should push him over 75%, which is what is required to receive an automatic work permit, and we will be looking to get him in during the summer, in preparation for next season." Looking ahead to the Crewe fixture, part of a very tough run of matches in February, Northampton's boss did not mince his words. "We realise it is going to be tough, but we have just got to dig in deep and pull ourselves out of trouble." added Fenwick. "As you have seen in the way we play, we try to make it very difficult for the opposition and particularly away from home, the formation that we have got suits us, we have just got to close them down, keep it tight and make it very difficult for them." Fenwick admitted that he has been actively trying to strengthen the squad this week, with Reading goalkeeper Phil Whitehead seen as a possible target. However, Glyn Thompson has signed for another month due to an injury that Whitehead picked up, but the search still goes on for more players. "We are still on the look out for better quality, and for overseas players the deadline is obviously on Friday, but we are working very hard to bring two or three top quality players in, and hopefully we will be seeing them arrive in the coming weeks." enthused the Cobblers boss.

Tick tock pt2 at 10:33:25 Friday January 31 2003
enwick can you not see that. Is it you and the boards aim to ruin this club once and for good? Dubious decision to let a mid-thirties mboy run a football club badly.....That is all I( I`m sure other people) see. He is actually messing with peoples livelihoods families etc. If he has immediate plans we should know. Yes he maybe good at property developing but this is not the property ladder and it is serious.....I really fear for the future of this club. Not a serious delve into the transfer market and I think this is shown by the signing of Andy Turner. We`ll see.I hope?

OK now folks, had to change from the otherwise awesome safari to the lame explorer to get on to ntfc fixtures.

andy at 23:37:15 Thursday January 30 2003
this is ridiculous - where can I find the cobblers fixtures for this season? The official site give me an error message and none of the unofficial ones seem to give it. Please can someone post a link - thanks

Lowerweststand at 22:41:20 Thursday January 30 2003
Pierre is an International player, therefore the Transfer Window applies.
