The band's key members are Yves Altana and Mark Burgess. Closely following them are Danny Ashbury and Craig Barrie, two talented musicians belonging to another local band, Kings of Hong Kong, who are currently touring with the band filling in for the keyboards and drums.

Yves plays guitars, creates string sounds from a single-octave footpedal, and sings backing vocals. That's live, anyway. In the studio he also produces and mixes the tracks. Prior to co-founding Invincible, he worked again with Mark on the excellent album Paradyning released in 1996. Before that, it was Wonky Alice, and a very strange album... Although self-taught, he's proven himself to be a guitar magician, particularly live, a great up-and-coming production talent, incredibly passionate about his music and Invincible, and a fine fellow to boot.

And then there's Mark. Extraordinary poet, singer, bass and guitar-player. One of the great unsung heroes, Mark is best-known as the frontman for 80s stars-in-waiting The Chameleons. They never made it big, partly because of some bad luck... but that's another story. Now he's making other people happy, like us, who were Chameleons fans, and others who are only now being introduced to his... well, genius. And guess what - he's a lovely bloke too :)

Danny and Craig deserve a special mention because as they band went on tour earlier this year, their drummer decided to walk out. With a bunch of live dates coming up, Invincible were potentially going to have to cancel - but in stepped Craig, who learned the drum parts in just four days before the Liverpool gig. Directed by Yves, he got through that nerve-wracking experience OK, and built up confidence through the rest of the tour, adding a special touch to the rhythm of the songs. Danny also learned the keyboard parts quickly, and now both are credited on the Invincible website as a part of the band. I'm sure Invincible fans everywhere are singing the praises of these two, for helping the band continue the tour and spread the word.
