Re : Foot and Mouth Disease Outbreak

5th July 2001

We are pleased to inform you that slowly but steadily we are able to offer you much more of our normal activity programme.  As of today Brimham Rocks has now been re-opened with certain restrictions but this allows us to use the venue once again.
The only activity which we are unable to offer is Caving as entrance to the cave is gained by crossing private land
and as you hopefully understand the farmer may be a little reluctant to open this land until it is safe for him to do so.

The gate at the top of the drive will be in use and must be kept closed after access/exit has been gained.

Disinfected vehicle matting and sprays will be available at the top of the drive. Vehicle drivers and all passengers are asked to vacate their vehicles and walk across the disinfected matting. All Staff and Visitors in vehicles are asked to drive slowly over the disinfected matting. Only then should vehicles proceed onto site. This procedure must also be followed on the way out.

Signs will be posted at the Sandhutton Lane entrance asking people requiring access to our property to use the main entrance only.

This is obviously a difficult time for farmers and we do not want to be adding to the problem by potentially spreading the disease.

Your diligence with this matter is vital and in everyone's interest.
Many thanks,

Tony Christon.
