You get there by crossing Shaldon Bridge and going to the Ness car park. As you go up to the golf hut the animals in Shaldon zoo shout a really noisy "HELLO!" at you. At the top of the car park on the side of a hill you will find the golf hut. It costs £3.50 for an adult and £2.50 for a child with a £5.00 deposit on the balls and clubs. You get the £5.00 back as long as you don't break a club or lose a ball. Shaldon is a par 3 course. This means that you should only take 3 shots (or less) for each hole. A good golfer will be on the green from his tee-shot and then have two putts. Some of the holes on the Shaldon course are quite tricky because of the hillside. On the 1st, for example, you have to hit well to the right so that your ball can roll down hill and onto the green. Unlike my dad who hits it straight so his ball rolls into the hedge where he's history! |

| The longest hole is the 15th - 120 yards onto a raised green. It is also on the side of a hill so you have to aim left to get on the green. It will take you about 2 hours to complete a round of golf at Shaldon and you will have walked about two and a half miles! It's great fun to play golf and much better for you than sitting in front of a TV! | |||||||||||
