This
late 15th century timbered building was the subject of national
debate when in the 1990s, its owner Teresa Gorman MP was ordered
through the courts to reinstate to its original condition thousands
of pounds worth of alterations which she had carried out on the
building without listed building consent.
Adjacent
to Old Hall Farm is an earthwork where 'Bishpo Bonner's Palace'
is said to have stood. The earthwork consists of a circular enclosure
of 200ft internal diameter with a rectangular bailey. This is
now a scheduled 'Ancient Monument'
