This set came from a second hand shop in Helensville, North Island, New Zealand. It is typical of the style called a "Cow Shed" Radio. It was meant for long term use around the farm and was often found in the Cow Shed. I'm not sure whether this was for the benefit of the cows or the workers!
It was in working order when I bought it (albeit, very grubby and filled with dessicated spiders) and I used throughout our holiday in our Camper Van. It has a pleasant cream coloured bakelite cabinet and the dial is marked with the local three letter call signs (or Australian?).
