18 medals at Doncaster Dartes

Pocklington Dolphins swimming club produced some fantastic performances at the Doncaster Dartes Open meet this month, returning with one of their biggest medal hauls in an open meet.

The swimmers secured 18 medals and a host of Personal Best times. Medals were awarded to the swimmers in the top 6 of each race.

Ryan Rudd took 1st place in 50m Breaststroke in a personal best time of 49.67. He went on to take 3rd place in 100m Individual Medley, 50m Fly and 4th place in 50m Freestyle. Ryan ended his events receiving the trophy for Top 11 year old Boy.

Andy Redmore also competing in 11 year boys came 2nd in Freestyle, 3rd in Breaststroke, 4th in 100m IM and 5th in Fly. Also competing in the morning events was Charlotte Palmer and Kirsty Salmon.

Charlotte swimming in 12 years came 5th in 50m breaststroke and achieved personal bests in 100m IM, 50m Fly, 50m Backstroke and 50m Freestyle. Kirsty competing in 10 years came 5th in 50m Fly and also achieved personal best in 50m Freestyle.

The afternoon events also produced some impressive performances. Phillip Kendra swimming in the 15 years took 1st place in 100m Backstroke and 100m Freestyle. Phillip also took 4th place in 50m Fly and 3rd in 100m IM.

Also competing in 15 years was Michael Smith who took 6th place in 50m Fly and 100m Freestyle and 5th in 100m IM.

Michael's brother Peter competing in his first open competition swam well to gain 6th in 50m backstroke and gained personnel best in 50m Fly and 100m IM.

Also competing in the afternoon events were Megan Worrall swimming in her first open meet and Katrina Stanton. Both girls swam well gaining personal bests in their events. Well done to all who competed.
