ABOUT
PASTURES GOLF CLUB
|
Opened in 1969, by professional golfer Max Faulkner, Pastures Golf Club has changed very little since then. That is of course apart from the few hundred trees that have been planted, the new tees that have been built, the green that has been moved, the better maintenance of the course and the fact that the course is now played in a different hole order than originally planned.
Set in, what was until its closure and subsequent development in 1995, the grounds of a psychiatric hospital (Pastures Hospital hence the name) this nine hole course may not be the longest, but is defiantly one of the most testing in the Derby Area.
Refreshments are always available with the bar being open every evening and Wednesday lunch times. This is the 'Pastures Social Club' which the golf club is affiliated to. When joining the Golf Club you automatically become a member of the Social Club.
Competitions for the Ladies take place on a Saturday afternoon when the tee is closed from Midday until 4.00 p.m. The Mens competitions are on a Sunday when the tee is closed from 6.00 a.m. until 6.00 p.m. Junior competitions are held during the school holidays and notice of these events are available at the Club.
Pastures also has a thriving Seniors section which holds competitions and social events on a Wednesday morning.
The Committee, Captains and members hope that you will enjoy the 'Pastures Experience' be it as a visitor or a new member.
