This site is a simple one containing no real dyamics or complicated technologies. It is constructed using only a few tools that anyone can use.

Firstly, the pages themselves are all created using the visual website development tool Dreamweaver from Macromedia. Its a simple tool that allows you to visually construct a site without having to know any HTML code. It has a few useful features like templates which serve as the base for each page - should i make a change to the look and feel of the site then these changes are automatically made to the whole website.

For the photo albums page i simply take the memory stick unit from my camera, place it into a PCMCIA adapter and plug it into my laptop. I copy all all of the pictures, reduce the resolution for those that are going onto the site and fire up ThumbsPlus which is a useful tool for creating all of the small thumbnail images you see for each album. Once these thumbnails are created then i use the web wizard of ThumbsPlus to create a web page with all of the thumbnails and links to larger images. Then I open this automatically generated page in Dreamweaver and edit it to add comments and style - thats it.

The site itself is held on a server maintained my a UK based Internet Service Provider called UKOnline who let me do this for free. If i require more space then i just ask and so far they have never declined!

My internet domain names ReevesWorld.com and ReevesWorld.co.uk were registered using 123-reg who allow domain name registrations from 39p! They also provide me with a forwarding service to my filespace on the UKOnline server. This means that when you type www.reevesworld.com then you are directed to the 123-reg server which then reads my instructions to forward you to the UKOnline filespace where the reevesworld site is situated. This page is then displayed in your browser.
