As a Film & TV composer, Paul Castle is best known for writing and performing the theme song and background music for 40 episodes of the 'Best Children's' BAFTA award-winning TV series of Jane Hissey's Old Bear Stories (Carlton Television UK for the ITV Network), which has subsequently been sold to over 70 counties worldwide, winning further awards at both the New York and Chicago Film Festivals, among many others. The shows have been recently been repeated several times in the UK on Channel Five's 'Milkshake' programme. The theme song features Paul on lead vocal, acoustic guitar and piano with Mat Fox (ex-Barely Works) on hammered dulcimer and Alison Goldfrapp (of Goldfrapp) on harmony vocals. Previously a member of 6-piece folk band Out to Lunch in the 80s and acoustic folk rock outfit Sons of Fat Harry in the 90s Paul teamed up with fiddlers Will Sneyd and Fliss Premru in 2001 to form The Rosinators a London-based bluegrass, Cajun, gospel country blues band, described as "Rapidly gaining a reputation as one of the UK's finest bands" (see reviews). In 2004 they were finalists in the Glastonbury Festival Acoustic Stage Unsigned Band Competition and have since performed at both Glastonbury and the Edinburgh Fringe, among many other festivals throughout the UK, Ireland and Holland. engineer/producer for PDC
Music, Paul has recently produced an album by UK pianist and soundtrack composer, Peter Falkner. Appropriately titled "As it happens", extracts from these atmospheric piano improvisations have already featured in various TV series, including six episodes of the BBC2 Documentary Series 'Living Famously', which has also been shown on ABC in Australia.
