Father Robert Davies came to talk to us about the churches in Aberdare. Saint John's Church is the oldest in the valley. It was built around 1100. It holds 100 people. A soldier who fought in the Battle of the Alahmo is reported to be buried in one of the walls in the church. It is also said that he was a "baddy", on the side of the Mexicans! |
