St Elvans Church

Saint Elvans Church was built in 1852. It was built due to the influx of workers into the valley and Saint Johns was unable to hold the people. St. Elvan was a traditional saint from Celtic times, although it is not known for certain whether or not he actually existed. Legend states that he was ordained by the Pope in Rome, then sent back to convert people to Christianity.
