Our hand woven carpet design 'Agra'. The name of this design needs no introduction as Agra is famous for the Taj Mahal. It is from the collection of famous Agra designs which are very popular even today. The construction is 30:30 or 90,000 knots per square meter made up of multi coloured hand spun Indian wool. The rug has been given a light antique wash. Our hand woven carpet design 'Alishan', meaning 'grand'. The design shows large and prominent motifs. This bold pattern lends itself to our 20:20 weave and can be woven in a number of different colour ways. It is woven in 45 count multi-coloured Indian hand spun wool which produces a unique variation in the ground colour. The ends are finished with a short kelim incorporating the colours of the Indian flag. The carpet has been given a light antique wash. Our hand woven carpet design 'Chir'. Chir is a type of tree found in the Indian mountain ranges of the Himalayas. The big motifs are the trees. It is a bold symmetrical pattern designed to blend in with most rooms. It can be woven in a number of colourways and in multi-coloured Indian wool using our 20:20 quality. The ends are finished with a short kelim incorporating the colours of the Indian flag. It has been given a heavy wash to produce enhanced lustre in the wool. Our hand woven carpet design 'Gamla'. Gamla is the Hindi word for 'pot'. It is hard to see how the designer came up with the name as whilst the design has flowers in it, it does not resemble a pot. However, this is one of our finest carpets. It is woven in our 40:40 quality as the intricate detail demands a high knot count and exceptional weaving skill. This carpet is woven in the finest 60 count New Zealand wool and the fringes are finished in the traditional manner. The carpet is given a special wash to achieve a sheen then air dried in the Indian sun.

Our hand woven carpet design 'Altman', meaning 'flower'. This is an interesting design with no central medallion and ideal for a dining room to provide a warm interesting backcloth to a dining table. It can be made in a number of colour combinations. The carpet is woven in 60 count New Zealand wool. The rug has been washed and left to dry naturally in the Indian sun. Our hand woven carpet design 'Amogli'. This is a carpet inspired by the Indo Persian designs with an intricate web of leaves and flowers. The broad border also gives a majestic feel to this superb carpet. Because of its intricate design, it is constructed in one of our finest weaves using the finest New Zealand wool. The knot count is 250,000 per square metre with over 200 hand tied knots in every square inch. The rug has been washed twice to achieve the sheen and lustre. Our hand woven carpet design 'Aryana', named after a tribe in India. It is an open field design which lends itself well to our 20:20 quality. The carpet has a pile height of 0.5 inches. It is woven in 45 count hand spun multi-coloured Indian wool. The variation in colours is due to the characteristics of the wool. The ends are finished with a short kelim incorporating the colours of the Indian flag and tea dyed. Bagiya means 'garden' and is a simple traditional design. Handmade with semi-worsted mill-spun wool, the predominant colours are ivory and rust, together with gold, green, red and blue. There are 250,000 knots per sq metre and almost 2 million knots in the 300 x 240cm carpet. Woven by 4 skilled weavers in approximately 130 days.

Our hand woven carpet design 'Bahar'. This means 'spring' in Hindi. It seems the design was inspired by the look of the carpet as a garden with lots of shoots springing up everywhere. Its bold and busy central design is in some contrast to the fairly formal border to this carpet. Similar designs can be seen in many Indo Persian classics. It is woven in Indian hand spun wool with tea stained fringes. The construction is 30:30 and the pile height is 0.5 inches Our hand woven carpet design 'Chakra'. This means 'wheel' in Hindi. The name is described as such as the designers felt that some of the motifs look like the catherine wheel firework. The carpet is made of 30 to 45 count Indian hand spun wool. The ends are finished with a short kelim incorporating the colours of the Indian flag and tea dyed. The rug is washed chemically and has a slight yellowish tinge. Our hand woven carpet design 'Fanus'. The design name is derived form an Urdu word which means shrubs. The motifs in the design depict these. It is an open field Mughal period design. The colours used are not too many. The rug consists of 40,000 knots per square metre and denotes our quality 40:40. The pile is made of Indian multi-coloured hand spun wool and the rug has been given a slight antique wash. Our hand woven carpet design 'Jeroka', meaning 'windows' in Hindi. The name aptly describes this quite formal rug which would bring colour to any room. Its boldness allows us to use a lower knot count, therefore, significantly reducing the price for this attractive carpet. The rug is made of 45 count multi-coloured hand spun Indian wool. The pile height is 0.5 inches and has been given a light antique wash.

Our hand woven carpet design 'Kashmir'. It is hard to know what inspired the naming of this carpet, Kashmir, apart from the flowers which are in abundance in this lovely country. The design is inspired by carpets woven during the Mogul period. Unlike most oriental carpet designs (other than prayer mats) the pattern is laid out in one direction. Most designs, particularly for larger carpets, will repeat in each half. The carpet is woven in hand spun Indian wool and the ends are finished with a short kelim incorporating the colours of the Indian flag and tea dyed. Our hand woven carpet design 'Khamaria'. This carpet derives its name from a weaving village in the Mirzapur/Bhadohi district of Uttar Pradesh, where twenty years ago a carpet was woven for Holyrood House, and as this design bears a distinct resemblance to the formal design used in that carpet. Because of the detail, it is woven in 40:40 quality with 160,000 knots in every square metre. The symmetrical pattern gives the rug a sober but appealing look. It is in every way a classic Indian carpet that will be appreciated by knowledgeable carpet people. Our hand woven carpet design 'Kohinoor'. The two bold symbols which dominate this carpet resemble the sparkle of a diamond and this carpet is named after the famous Koh-i-noor grade Mogul diamond which was reputed to have weighed 240 carats. This diamond disappeared from India in 1665 and some people believe this is the same diamond that now adorns the British Crown jewels. It is one of our most popular designs and is woven in a number of colourways using 30 to 45 count of multi-coloured hand spun Indian wool. The ends are finished with a short kelim incorporating the colours of the Indian flag. Our hand woven carpet design 'Matka' - means 'pot' in Hindi. The design is derived from the motifs in the border. This is a very popular design as it can be made in a number of colourways and the design is uncomplicated. The rug is made up in 45 count multi-coloured hand spun Indian wool. The quality is 30:30 with 90,000 knots per square metre. The rug is finished by being antique washed.

Our hand woven carpet design 'Tulsi'. The design name is derived from a plant in India. The plant is very sacred for the Hindu community and is found in most houses in India. It has many healing qualities and is very good for mild cold and coughs. The rug is made of 90,000 knots per square metre and denotes our 30:30 quality. The pile is 0.4 inches and is made of Indian multi-coloured hand spun wool. The variation in the colours is as a result of the different colours of the undyed wool. Our hand woven carpet design 'Almas'. This is a Hindi word meaning 'complicated'. This name could have been chosen by the weavers as there is a high degree of skill needed to weave this delicate fine pattern. With curving links between flowers this pattern demands a high knot count to provide the definition and is woven in our 40:40 weave with almost 200 knots per square inch. The design is very similar to a number of classic Indo Persian designs and is woven in 45 count multi-coloured hand spun Indian wool. The pile height is 0.5 inches. Mala Carpet design 'Kashan' A pile carpet made of Indian handspun multi-coloured wool, with 40,000 knots per sq metre, which gives it a rugged look.
