Although
the name book is redundant now, you can still see the suggestions:![]()

| 25/8/00 | Amelia Lucy Freeth was born tonight at 23:44 weighing 9 lbs 8 ozs or 4.32 kilos. You can call her Millie. | |||
| 22/8/00 | Still waiting..........a day overdue now. Had a routine scan, all still OK. It's just happy where it is for now. We're seeing the Consultant on Thursday to book an induction date, the prospect of which will hopefully will scare it out. | |||
| 13/8/00 | Still waiting..........zzzzzzzzzz.......... | |||
| 8/8/00 | Still waiting.......... | |||
| 24/7/00 | Alfie Thomas Prothero was born at 9.42 am, Monday 24th July to join Mark & Jane and big sister Eden. | |||
| 11/7/00 | Liz's last day at work. If anyone has any unwanted jigsaw puzzles or knitting patterns to occupy her during the next 6 weeks then send them over. She is likely to be very bored, so if you do get time then call or write or visit anytime. | |||
| 1/7/00 | Part 2 of the NCT course and it's all over - what a relief. The namebook seems to be attracting…..not much attention at all. We particularly need help with boy's names so get suggesting | |||
| 25/6/00 | First part of the National Childbirth Trust ante natal crash course today. 6 hour session - part 2 on Saturday. Now we know what a Fundus is. | |||
| 5/6/00 | Sorry no update for a while. This is because there is absolutely nothing new to report. We have also been on holiday and have been looking for a new house, nothing happening as yet. We've been looking at baby stuff and have decided that the majority of push chairs were designed by NASA. Some even come with alloy wheels and cup holders. The midwife has been here today for a routine visit and everything's OK. | |||
| 6/4/00 |
20 week scan today, everything is well except it wouldn't keep still for the pictures | |||
| 2/4/00 | Just thought you'd all like to know that it's wriggling about now. | |||
| 8/3/00 | Next scan date: 6th April | |||

| 8/2/00 | We now have an appointment for the 12 week scan which is Saturday 26th Feb, which makes it more like a 15 week scan. Hopefully we'll have a picture for you to see then. Liz was concerned that she hadn't had any morning sickness but apparently this is not unusual. In the US there is a doctor named Margie Profet who has an interesting theory about 'pregnancy sickness', namely that it has evolved to protect the unborn baby against plant toxins which adults are tolerant of. Unfortunately, she recommends that all vegetables are dangerous and shouldn't be eaten. For example, mushrooms have a chemical in them which is used in rocket fuel. My advice is to avoid naked flames after eating mushrooms. Click here to see for yourselves | |||
| 23/1/00 | No news as yet, but everything is still OK. The 12 weeks scan should be in about 2 weeks time so there'll be some more news then. We saw my brother's twin boys for the first time last night, Luke and Alexander, who were born last Sunday morning. They're both fine, both weighed just over 5 pounds. Sheila has been back to work already! | |||
| 4/1/00 | Second scan and everything's OK. The 'baby' is now 12mm long and has a heartbeat. We don't have a picture of it yet but should get one at 12 weeks. As soon as we do, it will appear here. | |||
| 1/1/00 | Happy new year - thanks to everyone for their congratulations and kind words. Note: Alison Rimmer can visit anytime she wants as long as she brings a pudding with her. Alison - how about posting the chocolate layer cake recipe in the guestbook? | |||
| 28/12/99 | First scan, not conclusive but good news for now. We saw the baby, it was about 8mm long. A second scan is needed in a week's time to see a heartbeat for certain. We're much happier now but we won't really relax until the next scan gives us good news. | |||
