April 2000 Results
At last the results ! Family problems and other things stopped me doing
this.
The results are simply stunning. In the beginning there were just a few
good entries, and a lot of poor ones. Now there are loads of really good
submissions and very few poor ones. The goal of the contests were to
improve your system by direct comparison with others taking the same pass.
It seems to have worked.
I'm not doing the cumulative scores yet. You need to dwell on this contest,
go see the images that were judged at :-

There is no clear winner, the best entries bunched at the top, here are the
front line guys :-
7 people got the top score of 37 points:
Martin Ellis
Haydn Glaister
George Newport
Peter Tanner
Jean Paul Benoit
Milan Konecny
John Charles
followed closely by 3 people with 36:
Dave Cawley
Kevin Bates
Paul Hayes
with 35 points:
Ian Busby
David Taylor
with 34:
Clive Finnis
Les Hamilton
Paul Holder
Alan Jarvis
In reality, we are achieving almost the maximum possible, I know of only one
guy on a mountain in Arizona, who has a false horizon, who could do much
better than the front runners. Any ideas for the next contest ???
