JACOB's Modern Bible Cards: by LION of Israel.
This is a more abstract version of the Raban Bible Cards so wonderfully displayed at the Bob Lancaster site.

David, second of the Israelite kings (after Saul) reigning c. 1000 to c. 962 BC, who established a united kingdom over all Israel, with Jerusalem as its capital. Pictured with his harp, on which he accompanied his sweet songs.

Joab, a military commander under King David, who was his mother's brother. He led the commando party that captured Jerusalem for David and as a reward was appointed commander in chief of the army. He played a leading part in many of David's victories.

Saul, first king of Israel
(c. 1021-1000 BC). Saul was chosen king both by the judge Samuel and by public acclamation. Saul was similar to the charismatic judges who preceded him in the role of governing.

Bathsheba, wife of Uriah the Hittite; whom David loved at first sight, she later became one of the his wives and the mother of King Solomon.

Face cards are double headed colourful court-figures with pictures of biblical characters. The name of each person is printed on the cards in both Hebrew and English . The characters chosen for each suit are inter-connected in the biblical stories.

Queen of Sheba, ruler of the Kingdom of Saba' (or Sheba) in southwestern Arabia. In the reign of King Solomon, she visited his court at the head of a camel caravan bearing gold, jewels, and spices.

The Joker displays the apple tree and snake from the "Garden of Eden".

Solomon, son and successor of David and traditionally regarded as the greatest king of Israel. He maintained his dominions with military strength and established Israelite colonies outside his kingdom's borders.
